Wow Activities at Children 1st @ Bilborough

The Early Years’ children have enjoyed taking part in a variety of simple experiments.

The ‘Skittles’ experiment was a firm favourite. After carefully arranging the Skittles in a circle on a plate and adding warm water to the centre, the children sat back and watched the magic happen. The coloured sugar coating slowly dissolved and spread through the water to make an amazing Skittles rainbow. What a WOW moment!

The Mentos and Diet Coke challenge was exciting to watch. The reaction between the mints and the Diet Coke caused a fantastic eruption as the liquid was forced out of the bottle. This was a big WOW moment!

Less of a spectacle, but still very enjoyable, our next activity was another favourite as the children decided to bake some cakes for  their snack. Here the children could experience first hand the changes that happen when ingredients are combined and then baked. The results were delicious and a big WOW with everyone!
