Winnie the Pooh Day 2023 at Children 1st @ Toton and Clowne

Each year 18 January is National Winnie the Pooh Day in the United Kingdom, a day that celebrates the honey-loving bear and the author of the Winnie the Pooh stories, A. A. Milne. He brought Winnie to life in his stories, which also featured his son, Christopher Robin.

For our celebrations the children were invited to bring their own special bear to nursery to share our special teddy bears’ picnic.

The Early Years children also shared Winnie the Pooh stories together and enjoyed eating honey and toast for a special snack. The children learned about how honey is made and showed skills to independently spread their honey and cut their toast.

The children at Clowne also had fun celebrating Winnie the Pooh Day. With a magical journey through the Hundred Acre Wood, creating their own pot of sticky honey and making some delicious food for Winnie and his friends, everyone thoroughly enjoyed this special celebration.
