A Flipping Great Pancake Day at Children 1st Nurseries
The children and our nursery cooks across Children 1st nurseries have been very busy making pancakes to celebrate this special day.
With recipes to carefully follow, ingredients to weigh, mix and cook, our children and cooks have risen to the challenge and produced some very tasty pancakes and had a flipping great time!
Whether eaten with oranges, lemons or strawberries, spread with jam or chocolate spread, pancakes are always a firm favourite with the children. The children certainly love choosing their own toppings.
Not all pancakes were for eating. We had some very enthusiastic pancake makers sifting and stirring in tuff spots to make their pretend creations, whilst also taking the opportunity to flip them.
Pancake pictures featured so many toppings as the children got busy with the glue to make their pancakes. Playdough, some of it scented with vanilla, served as a pancake mixture substitute for rolling out and decorating with fruit. Singing songs together such as ‘Five Little Pancakes’ added to the jolly Pancake Day at our nurseries.
After all this fun, it’s no wonder everyone was ready to tuck into the pancakes at tea-time!
