World Book Day is an annual event dedicated to changing the lives of children through a love of books and shared reading. It’s a brilliant opportunity for us to get together to celebrate the joy and knowledge that books give us and enjoy the magic that can happen when we share a book.

Why is sharing stories so important? It’s fun and opens the door to creativity and imagination. It’s such a positive experience for adults and children to share a precious few moments and of course, books help to stimulate the development of children’s language, thinking and other skills.

From very hungry caterpillars, tigers and pirates to Postman Pat, Horrid Henry, princesses and Gruffalos, the children all looked fabulous in their World Book Day outfits.  Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland added some magic to the day as books were shared, costumes admired and games were played.
