Wearing Purple in Support of JIA at Children 1st @ Grantham

The nursery recently hosted a special day to raise money for the charity JIA.

This is an organisation which works to support children under 16 who have been diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis or JIA. The condition manifests itself by swelling, warmth and reduced movement in the child’s joints. In the UK, approximately 12,000 children (1 in 1000) under the age of 16 have  JIA.

We decided to fundraise for JIA because one of our children was diagnosed with the condition when she was just 16 months old.

Our ‘Wear Purple Day for JIA’ was part of a national event aimed at raising much needed awareness and funds for children and young people living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.

We raised £60 and we hope to increase this figure at our Summer Fair to be held on 3 August.

Thank-you to everyone who supported this event. To find out more about JIA please visit https://www.jia.org.uk
