The Spirit of Harvest Festival at Children 1st @ Newark Town
What better way to get us all into the spirit of the harvest festival than a visit from an enormous red tractor! The children discovered what a huge vehicle a tractor is when one of our parents from the farming community drove up to tell the children all about how the machine helps him to do his job at harvest time.
Better still, the kind farmer allowed the children to carefully explore the tractor. They climbed into the cab to look at all the various switches and buttons. They pretended to drive and even got to toot the horn! Posing for photos on the bonnet or against the wheels was such fun! Thank-you to our kind parent farmer for giving us some of his valuable time and for helping us get into the spirit of harvest.
Over the next couple of weeks, the children will be finding out what the harvest is all about and we’ll have our own harvest festival. We are collecting items for our local food bank. We have a basket in reception for donations and are able to accept dry food such as pasta, rice and noodles, tinned foods, hygiene products and sanitary items too. Thank -you for your support.
