St. David’s Day Celebrations at Children 1st @ Acorns, Grantham and Newark
Across our nurseries we have been finding out about St. David, the patron saint of Wales.
Beautiful daffodils were painted by the children as they handled and looked very carefully at the national flower of Wales. The children concentrated really well, and their artwork showed some great observational skills.
The Welsh flag with its red dragon was a talking point as the children had a very close look at the colours and the design. The flag made a bright backdrop for some photographs.
Traditional Welsh food was sampled with delights such as Welsh cakes, bara birth and a traditional Welsh stew called cawl being well received by the children.
We hope that everyone celebrating St. David’s Day had a wonderful time.
