Spikey Critters Fundraising at Children 1st @ Shepshed
Throughout this week everyone at Shepshed has been doing lots of hedgehog themed activities to raise funds for Spikey Critters Hedgehog Care based in Ashby. We’re planning to continue this next week.
Miss Amy, our Early Years’ teacher, had 3 hoglets rescued from her garden, as Mummy hedgehog had not been seen for a few days. Spikey Critters Hedgehog Care rescues and cares for around 150 hedgehogs and their babies each year. Spikey Critters is completely self-funded and so we are fundraising to help buy essential items to take care of the rescued hedgehogs, such as food, shelter, medical care, means for rehabilitation and antibiotics.
We have been completing a nursery wide sponsored 5k walk around the nursery garden throughout the week, and have been handing out sponsorship forms to our families.
We also have a ‘Name the Hedgehog’ game that is £1 a turn with a very cute hedgehog soft toy prize. Lastly, we will be having a hedgehog colouring competition with a donation of 50p to take part with a prize for the best colouring.
Our team at Shepshed invite everyone to join in with their fund-raising efforts for this great cause. All donations will be gratefully received and will make such a difference to this important hedgehog rescue service.
