Science Week at Children 1st @ Plumtree
Early Years at Plumtree enjoyed explosive happenings as part of their Science Week activities when they made an erupting volcano. They were busy learning about the science of volcanoes, how they are formed and the causes of eruptions. To bring the learning to life they combined ingredients and stood back whilst the chemical reaction took place and the volcano erupted. They very carefully observed what happened during the eruption and had plenty to chat about afterwards.
On a gentler theme the children have been learning about what happens to plants in the winter and planting their own bulbs. The plants are now resting in their compost ready to grow as the weather warms. We look forward to having a bright flower display in the spring.
The arrival of the snow gave the children the opportunity to discover more about why we have snow and of course, to have adventures with friends as everyone explored the transformation to our play areas. Such fun!
