People Who Help Us at Children 1st @ Birstall

The children loved their recent People Who Help Us topic which was enriched by the kind support of key people in our community who look after our safety and health.

The Doctor was very helpful in explaining how she cares for us, showing the children what she uses to check our health. The children listened really well and were soon role playing as doctors.

Visits from the Police and the Fire Service are always very popular perhaps because of the uniforms, equipment and vehicles  they bring. The contents of the big red fire engine, the chance to hold the powerful water hose and to sit in the cab of the fire engine or the Police car always fills the children with awe and gives them plenty to talk about for days to come.
