Outdoor Learning at Children 1st @ The Marina
Getting outdoors to play is a brilliant sensory experience for toddlers. The Benjamin Bunnies are certainly loving and benefitting from the experience in so many ways.
In our nature hut environment, there is so much for them to see, explore and learn. The natural environment of leaves, potting compost and plants makes it an incredibly stimulating and multi-sensory place to play. We have been planting pumpkin seeds, hunting for bugs in the treasure basket and the leaves. We’ve also enjoyed smelling the herbs while watering them and helping them to grow.
The children are learning and gaining experience through all their senses, using their whole body and developing their gross motor skills while playing in this area.
It’s great to see their observational skills and language developing with this outdoor experience. “Spider, spider climbing!” said an excited Kit.
