Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Visit Children 1st @ Wragby Road
As part of this month’s ‘People Who Help Us’ topic the children at Wragby Road have been finding out about the role the Fire Service play in keeping us safe.
We were pleased to welcome fire fighters Tom, Paul, Andrew and Aaron who came to talk about their work and to everyone’s delight they brought along their fire engine. “Wow! Look at the fire engine!”
The children had the opportunity to climb on board the fire engine and learn about the equipment carried on the machine. We found out that the water tank is filled with rain water. The highlight of the visit was spraying the giant hose in the car park.
The children were full of questions such as:
“How do you put fires out in the sky?” asked Muzzy.
“Do you use the ladders to go really high?” wondered Freddie.
Thanks to the Lincoln North fire fighters for providing such a wonderful first-hand learning experience. Who knows, we may have inspired the next generation of fire fighters!
