It’s Getting to Look a Lot Like Christmas at Children 1st Nurseries

December is such a busy time at our nurseries as we get into the festive spirit with a whole host of activities.

Staff love to start off the festivities by decorating their nurseries, often to surprise the children when they arrive the next day. Staff at Grantham were really looking forward to seeing the looks on the children’s faces and were not disappointed. The looks of wonder and awe on the children’s faces as they gazed at the Christmas transformation made the efforts of the staff well worth it.

At Chesterfield the Early Years children were so inspired by the work of the elves overnight that they set about decorating the Christmas tree outside by the front door. What a great job they did! Back inside, they were delighted to see that the elves had made some lovely displays from their amazing seasonal art work.

The elves were also busy at Syston working hard throughout the night to bring the Christmas spirit to nursery. At Derby Road the youngest children were captivated by the tinsel and other decorations in their festive tuff spot, whilst at Hathern the children discovered a special ‘dummy tree.’

The tree has been placed in the reception area to encourage the children to leave their dummies for Santa so he can give them to the baby elves, or swap them for special presents on Christmas morning! Parents who would like support with weaning their child off the use of a dummy are invited to speak to a member of the team at Hathern.

With Christmas jumper days, nativity plays, parties and Christmas dinner, together with the sackful of creative activities planned for December, there’s so much festive fun to look forward to at all our nurseries.
