It’s a Knockout at Children 1st Day Nurseries
The pouring rain certainly did not dampen the spirits of our intrepid ‘It’s a Knockout’ contestants who braved the atrocious conditions to fundraise for The Margaret Mason Children 1st Trust. The charity supports families across our region and provides free nursery places to vulnerable children in their time of need.
The Children 1st teams managed to make the event such a fun occasion from the outset when they arrived in various items of fancy dress making sure there was laughter even before the first challenge got underway at Long Eaton Rugby Club.
The site had been transformed with various inflatables that posed an assortment of challenges to be overcome. Teamwork ruled the day, with competitors lending a helping hand without losing their thirst for a win!
Staff from Syston commented:
“We enjoyed taking part in the activities and raising money for the charity that is so close to all our hearts. We worked together and took each challenge as a team. It was an amazing team building experience and it was nice to meet up with all the other nurseries taking part too.”
Children 1st would like to say a special thank you to our staff and parents who have all made donations to support the work of The Margaret Mason Children 1st Trust, not just at the It’s a Knockout but over the past few weeks by supporting sponsorship events at our nurseries and buying raffle tickets and cakes.
Further information is available on our just giving page. Any sponsorship is hugely appreciated! https://www.justgiving.com/page/itsaknockoutchildren1st
Well done to everyone taking part and thank-you to parents and friends who came along to cheer on our teams.
Unfortunately, the weather deteriorated so much that the event had to finish early because of health and safety concerns but while it lasted all our competitors put on an inspirational display of teamwork and community spirit, not to mention sporting prowess!
We hope you enjoy looking through the gallery showing some highlights of the day.
