Inspired by Valentine’s Day at Children 1st Day Nurseries
As part of their Valentine’s Day fun the children at several of our nurseries enjoyed joining in with a variety of activities.
The children at Meir Park used their plaiting skills to make friendship bracelets and wrote their names in red glitter. Everyone loved posing for a Valentine’s photo!
Early Years at Buckinghams shared one of their favourite books which tells the story of the Colour Monster who turns pink when he feels loved. Inspired by the story the children went on to describe what makes them feel most loved. Mummy and daddy featured a lot in their responses! Making heart shaped biscuits to take home ensured this was a fun-filled day!
Biscuit decorating was a part of the celebrations at Leicester with the Peter Rabbits and Early Years adding pink icing and sprinkles to biscuits before gathering round to eat them. Bobtails were busy exploring the feel of sensory hearts as they developed their fine motor skills.
The Bobtails at Syston were also hands-on with heart shapes which they decorated to make a stained-glass effect while Peter Rabbits were busy chatting about who they loved in their family and why this person was so special.
At St. Peter and St. Paul, the staff and the children entered into the spirit of the day by dressing in red and pink for their exciting day of craft activities inspired by Valentine’s Day.
