Heuristic Play at Children 1st @ Chesterfield
Heuristic play for babies isn’t as complicated as it may sound. It simply involves allowing them to interact safely with everyday objects rather than toys. It’s a type of open-ended play where babies explore ordinary items, engage their senses, manipulate objects and follow their curiosity.
Our Jemima Puddleducks couldn’t wait to explore what was inside our heuristic basket! They pulled out the different objects to feel the textures and listened to the sounds they made when they banged them together. They looked at their smiley reflections through the mirrors too. Who would have thought that a collection of simple objects could be such fun!
