Happy Diwali from Children 1st Nurseries
Diwali is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world.
Diwali, which for some also coincides with harvest and new year celebrations, is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
Across Children 1st Nurseries the children have been finding out about the festival and enjoying some of the traditional activities used to celebrate the occasion.
Sensory tuff spots have become transformed by beautiful rangoli patterns which enabled the children to explore vibrant colours and textures. Diva lamps have been made and decorated, lanterns have been cut from card and hands have been made beautiful with intricate mehndi patterns. Colourful lights have transformed some of our sensory area much to the fascination of the children.
Of course, any special celebration calls for dressing up and so we were pleased to see children in their special outfits or wearing bright colours. Music and dancing brought our celebrations to life and a smile to everyone’s faces!
We’re pleased to share photographs from our nurseries at Leicester, Newark Town, Syston and Toton.
