Happy Diwali from Children 1st Nurseries

Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains all over the world. It’s an important ‘Festival of Light’ and the children have been busy finding out about its story and the many ways in which it is celebrated.

At Leicester the Peter Rabbits made their own little lamps called divas and some Rangoli patterns. They enjoyed mixing various colours for the festival of light.

To celebrate Diwali and to find out more about the festival, Benjamin Bunnies at Derby Road made a Toran which is an Indian door hanging decoration. They had lots of fun learning new words and working together to make their beautiful decoration. The activity was a little messy with the use of some rather sticky glue but the little ones were very proud to show off what they had made.

The children at Birstall looked fantastic as they dressed for Diwali in their beautiful and colourful outfits. It was a busy day at nursery, with the Early Years children making Rangoli patterns using powder paint and stencils. The under 2’s had a brilliant time decorating diva lamps and getting messy with the paints.
