Giraffes Can’t Dance at Children 1st @ Newark Town
Or can they?
Gerald the tall giraffe would love to join in with the other animals at the Jungle Dance, but everyone knows that giraffes can’t dance. Their legs are too skinny and their necks are too long but Gerald longs to dance. A little encouragement was all that was needed to help Gerald the Giraffe realise that he could dance just as well as the other animals at the Jungle Dance.
This delightful story by Giles Andreae has enthralled the Peter Rabbits. They gathered round to share the story and to talk about the key events. The funny story had everyone laughing and they were thrilled when Gerald found his confidence and realised he was able to dance after all.
The story prompted us to find out more about giraffes and to create our own giraffes using items from the junk modelling box. Here the children had to think hard about how the materials could be joined together.
We hope that, like Gerald, we can all find the confidence to have a go when we really want to do something and that our friends will encourage us to try.
