Fire! Fire! at Children 1st @ Sheffield

Our Early Years’ children enjoyed a fantastic week learning all about the Fire Service. They took part in a range of exciting indoor and outdoor activities as they discovered how the brave fire fighters help to keep us safe.

One of the favourite activities was putting on the fire safety helmets and using the hose pipe to put out a “real” fire that had spread on the wall! All the firefighters worked together to put the fire out and save the day! As part of the fun, the children found out that fire engines could also be tasty! They used crackers, crisps and tomato passata to make their own yummy fire engines!  The best part was eating them with friends!

Peter Rabbits 2 have also been busy learning about fire safety. They’ve been finding out about the work of the fire fighters and about the big red fire engines they drive. This inspired the children to make their own fire engine which was great for role play as they hurried off to put out fires. They’ve also been singing their favourite fire truck song and have made and decorated special fire cakes.
