Dragons and Pizzas at Children 1st @ Leicester - Children 1st Day Nurseries

Dragons and Pizzas at Children 1st @ Leicester

A busy February at our Leicester nursery saw the children in creative mode as they enjoyed activities ranging from making castles, rescuing frozen peas and making pizzas!

The children immersed themselves in stories of dragons, knights and castles and to protect the knights from the fearsome dragon set about building their own castles and making shields. The tuff spot was transformed into a magic kingdom where the knights and the dragons engaged with each other in fantasy scenes orchestrated by the children.

The Bobtails have also been very ‘hands-on’ using natural objects and farm animals to create their own sensory play areas. The little pigs found the hay a very restful place to be!

It’s no surprise that to mark National Pizza Day the children were busy once again making pizzas for tea. With a delicious range of toppings, it’s no wonder that the pizzas were a hit with everyone at nursery.

As for those frozen peas, the Peter Rabbits rose to the challenge of rescuing them from the frozen block of ice. All part of their topic, Superheroes, the children have enjoyed listening to the Supertato story and recreating the rescue of all the peas. The children also enjoyed exploring in the superhero sensory tuff spot and finding all the superhero masks. They learned lots of exciting words like ‘POW’ and ‘BOOM’.
