Coronation Festivities at Children 1st Day Nurseries
Our nurseries enjoyed a wonderful time in the week leading up to the coronation with a host of red, white and blue themed activities. There was plenty of painting with royal crowns, bunting and flags to be prepared. There was the fun of colourful tuff spots and royal gloop to be explored. Castles were built and role play for our brave knights and princesses was the order of the day! Portraits of the new king were created and a fabulous letter of congratulations was composed at our Grantham nursery where they also made a time capsule to be buried in the nursery garden!
Wow! Such a busy time and it’s no wonder that by the end of it everyone was ready for a coronation party! Our cooks did us proud, putting on a spread fit for a king! Miss Samantha at Bilborough produced a fantastic cake decorated with a colourful flag which tasted every bit as good as it looked. With dancing, singing and flag waving, a right good time was had by all!
Thank-you to everyone who helped to make the week a success.
