Chinese New Year Celebrations at Children 1st @ Toton

2019 is the Year of the Pig! At Toton we’ve been busy finding out about the traditions associated with Chinese New Year and having our own colourful celebration.

We learnt about the red envelopes of money which are left under the children’s pillows. We made our own red envelopes for our pillows! We also made our own paper chain dragon, Chinese hats and a Chinese drum for the Chinese parade.

We recycled large cardboard boxes and painted them to make a giant Chinese dragon for the dragon dance and parade. Lastly, we made spring rolls for our special Chinese tea where we enjoyed a noodle stir fry, prawn crackers and our fresh out of the oven spring onions.

It was such a busy day, but we all had so much fun! Please share our fun by clicking through the photographs.
