Chinese New Year Celebrations at Children 1st @ St. Peter and St. Paul
Here at St. Peter and St. Paul we’ve been finding out about China and celebrating the Chinese New Year.
We enjoyed locating China on our globe, tracing Chinese symbols on our light boxes and having a go at drawing them free-hand.
We dressed for the celebration by wearing red and gold and had a fantastic turn out from all our children and staff. Our early years took a trip to the woods to play music and take part in a Chinese New Year parade.
We even had a special themed dinner on Monday which consisted of sweet and sour chicken with noodles and we tried prawn crackers too, which went down a storm. We’ve had a superb week exploring and learning about a different culture.
