Chinese New Year 2021 at Children 1st @ Plumtree
The children at Plumtree have been developing their understanding of the various festivals and events that take place around the world by finding out about Chinese New Year.
They’ve enjoyed a variety of activities such as making paper lanterns, practising using chop sticks and trying some Chinese writing. They loved taking part in a traditional dragon dance and making the music. Of course, no celebration would be complete without some delicious food so everyone tucked into their Chinese themed lunch.
The children have also looked at the traditional Chinese New Year greeting, Kung Hei Fat Choi meaning, ‘Congratulations and best wishes for a prosperous New Year! Happy New Year!’
Many thanks to the China Chef at Kegworth for gifting us some beautiful Chinese treats.
