Children 1st Remembers
Remembrance Day was marked across several of our nurseries by using it as an opportunity to help the children begin to understand the significance of the poppy and, with the older children, to talk about the concept of remembering. It also sparked a range of creative opportunities.
With so many activities taking place throughout the week, our nurseries were awash with poppies and the colour red!
Lovely poppies were created using paint with hands, sponges and brushes used to apply the red paint to the poppies. There was also plenty of sticking going on whilst the beautiful poppies were made.
Poppies of all shapes and sizes made eye-catching displays inside and outside our nurseries to show our respect for those who fought for the freedom we have today.
We hope you enjoy looking through a selection of photographs showing our Remembrance Day activities from our nurseries at Clowne, Grantham, Plumtree, Syston and Toton.
