Breakfasts and Bear Hunts at Children 1st @ Meir Park

Breakfast is regarded as the most important meal of the day. It provides our bodies with the energy that keeps us going throughout the day.

Here at Meir Park we were pleased to celebrate National Breakfast Day with the children to remind them of the importance of eating breakfast.

Our Early Years loved tucking into a continental breakfast which included pain au chocolat, croissants and pancakes with some spread and strawberries. It went down a treat!

The Early Years have been busy adventuring as they went off on a bear hunt! Inspired by the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen, they bravely stepped out on a bare foot walk, exploring all the different textures along the pathway. The children really enjoyed listening to the story before taking part in their walk which, as well as being a great sensory experience, helped the children to remember the sequence of events and gave them the opportunity to use some of the language from the story. From the smiles on everyone’s faces, it was great fun too!
