All Aboard the Polar Express at Children 1st @ Meir Park

The Polar Express is a classic story for sharing at Christmas. The book, which was written in 1985, tells the story of a young boy awakened on Christmas Eve by the sound of a train and the magical adventure he undertakes. Such was the books popularity, it was eventually made into a film.

Staff at Meir Park brought the story to life by inviting the children to come to nursery in their pyjamas ready to board their own Polar Express which they had been busily making during the week.

The children listened to the story, had their initials punched into special golden tickets and, most importantly, enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate and cookies! The children all received a special bell to represent the first gift of Christmas. They also enjoyed the Polar Express tuff spot where they role played the story using props to support their imaginative play. Like the boy in the story, we hope our children never lose their magic!
