What makes us magical at Children 1st @ Leicester?
Our inclusive philosophy and wonderful environment ensuring all children flourish!
Children 1st @ Leicester is housed within a beautifully presented and well maintained, purpose built, single storey building with an enclosed outdoor play area. Offering a rich, varied and stimulating environment in which children thrive, the nursery provides a calm, caring harmonious atmosphere where parents feel assured that their children are safe and know that their needs are being met.
The Baby and Toddler Suite nurtures young children aged from 6 weeks. Here our qualified staff work closely with parents to ensure they have all the necessary information to enable them to know the individual likes, needs and routines of each child so that the child settles well and parents feel confident. This strong partnership with parents is an important part of the ethos at Leicester and continues throughout the child’s time here.
The quality of the staff and their commitment to the provision of high quality care and learning was recognised in its latest Ofsted Inspection (April 2014.) Praising the staff for their excellent knowledge of child development, their precise assessment and planning for each individual child resulting in the provision of a ‘rich, varied and imaginative educational programme,’ the Inspector found that as a consequence, ’children make rapid progress in their learning and development.’ The quality of teaching is described as ‘excellent.’
Play, learning and development take place in a well-resourced, open plan nursery environment which supports children’s progress and the development of independence. With an excellent range of books and excellent access to arrange of programmable toys and technology, children’s early numeracy, language and communication skills are well promoted at every opportunity. Children are invited to join our French and dance activities. Our outdoor learning environment, extends learning opportunities and exploration of the world.
